SPW911 Sheet Pile Design Software

$150.00$599.99

Since its introduction in 2001, SPW911 has become the leading sheet pile design software and an indispensable tool for the analysis of sheet pile walls by classical methods. You, our users, have given your response, and now SPW911 is better than ever. SPW911 is sheet pile design software used for the analysis of modeling the shoring of excavations in stratified soil using sheet pile walls. Calculation methods are based on the British Steel Piling Handbook and the US Steel Sheet Piling Design Manual.

Description

New Features in SPW911 Version 2.4 Sheet Pile Design Software:
Pressure Model
  • The pressure model has been improved to give a better model of passive water in the Gross Pressure and Burland-Potts methods. As a result, the calculated penetration for Fixed Earth Support may increase or decrease by an insignificant amount. The penetration will usually increase in the Free Earth Support method, and this can be significant when Gross Pressure is used.
  • Previous versions displayed an occasional bug in designs with high water levels above ground level. This has been fixed by the above.
Shear Force, Bending Moment and Deflection
  • The calculation of shear force, bending moment and deflection have been completely rewritten to improve accuracy when numerous thin layers are defined near the toe and these are a mixture of granular and cohesive soils.
  • There is little effect on single frame designs, but the bending moment may be reduced (occasionally increased) for multiple frame solutions.
Miscellaneous
  • The online Help has been revised.
  • The Reports option has been improved. The changes include a report on Section Modulus. The minimum section modulus is displayed, along with an indication if the selected section modulus is adequate for the design.
  • Rules of Thumb has been improved. More information is given, including an indication if more than one rule has been applied.
  • An option for applying Rowe’s Moment Reduction has been added. The reduction factor is entered in the Wall page.
  • Various minor improvements have been made, and minor bugs have been fixed.
Same great features as before:
  • Completely graphical, easy to use interface For Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.
  • Simple to install.
  • Customizable database for soils, sheet piles and clients.
  • Analyzes steel, vinyl, aluminum or pultruded fiberglass sheet piling.
  • Assists design of both cantilever and anchored walls using free earth and fixed earth support methods.
  • Uses accepted methodology of classical sheet pile wall design.
  • Rankine, Coulomb and Terzaghi pressure models available.
  • Passive softening may be switched on or off.
  • Alternative methods of modeling cohesive soils, including tension cracks.
  • Water table may be defined above ground level.
  • Sloping ground allowed.
  • Multiple soil layers may be entered.
  • Addresses issues directly relating to Microsoft Windows XP.
  • Allows entering the factor of safety by reducing the passive lateral earth pressure coefficient for both cohesionless and cohesive soils, as required by some codes and recommended by many authorities.
  • Supports may be placed above ground level.
  • Frame loads analyzed by the area.
  • Distribution or hinge methods.
  • Can be used with single and multiple wale designs.
  • Graphical or tabular display of pressure, shear force, bending moment or deflection.
  • Graphs may be superimposed on the main design diagram or shown with axes.
  • Point and click editing of designs.
  • Prints out in attractive format you can customize with your firm’s name and stamp.
  • Checks and reports for designs not conforming to safety factors, or stress or load requirements.
  • Rules of thumb feature offers additional safety option.
  • Metric or imperial units; work in metric and produce imperial output, or vice versa.
  • Complete context-sensitive and searchable help for all aspects of program operation.
  • Allows the input of sloping backfill on the excavation (passive) side of the wall in addition to the soil (active) side.
  • Gives new alerts for excessive deflection and many other conditions.
